Is it normal that i randomly feel like stabbing people in the back?

Whenever someone's back is turned towards me, I have sudden great urges to stab them in the back. what's surprising is that this is a completely involuntary urge as I feel it even among friends. What's more is when my mind imagines the outcomes of these urges, I'm always using different objects, ranging from blunt to motorized. So this may not be normal, but am I safe in saying that I'm not alone in this desire of mine?

    See, in my employee handbook (I'm a security guard) it says to literally not keep your back turned to people for too long or let anyone sneak up on you, to watch your back diligently.

    This must be why...

    I've done it too, when i was in class sitting behind someone, i would often imagine stabbing my pencil into the back of their neck, something i would never do, and it made me extremely uncomfortable, but I couldn't really control the thoughts. I would imagine what would happen afterwards like how their body would react... anyway I think it can be related to OCD...

    I don't feel this every time somebody's back is turned, but I have on many occasion found my mind wandering into violent scenarios - me stabbing, punching, shooting certain people whilst in their company. That's not usually driven by hatred or anger, either, more... curiosity, frustration and boredom.

    Sometimes it's fun to entertain the idea of doing something absolutely horrific within the safe, private confines of your head :)

    It could be an acute form of OCD. This disorder is not only characterized by compulsions, but by obsessions. You may just have a faulty circuit in your brain that takes an idea and sorta runs wild with it.

    I'd say it's a normal desire. As long as you don't actually do it, it's completely harmless.

    I have a similar urge, but my urge is to cut peoples throat from behind, it is also involuntary.

    Sometimes, when I see a big crowd, I imagine what it would be like if a huge truck started running people over.
