Is it normal that i put myself in place of the opposite gender?

Let me tell you what I mean:
Recently, my friends and I were watching Return of the Jedi. When we got to the scene that shows Princess Leia wearing a gold bikini and chained to Jabba the Hutt's throne, all my friends had the typical "guy" reaction: they all commented on how hot Leia looked, and they all stared at her drooling, (not literally, but you get the idea).
Now, I too am a guy, and I am not gay, but for some reason, I found myself sympathizing with Leia as though I felt I was in her position. Later, after my friends were gone, I even envisioned myself wearing that same gold bikini even though it's for a woman, and chained to Jabba's throne. Even worse, in the vision I had, my friends were all guests in Jabba's palace. They all were fully-clothed and had freedom, while I, on the other hand, was wearing a skimpy little woman's bikini, and was in chains. I felt like all eyes were on me. I felt awkward and embarrassed. Is it normal that I had that reaction rather than the typical guy reaction?

    • My friends aren't dicks. I'm just concerned that since I saw Leia's humiliating situation from her point of view, (as though I'm looking through a woman's eyes), that that makes me gay or isn't normal.

      • That doesn't make you gay. You're gay if you love other men. You sound like a genuinely nice person for not supporting slavery and implied sexual abuse.

  • It's empathy.

I do the same thing when giving advice to guys, and try to put myself in their shoes as best as I can.

      • Please don't be rude. I'm just trying to see if feeling that way was normal

    • Feminists will NEVER have empathy for men. Especially working class and poor men. Feminists arrogantly see such men as beneath them.

  • Don't listen to *certain* people in this page. You have empathy and that is good. But you have to remember that it's not real. Gender shouldn't even be an issue in this scenario, humiliation and slavery is just as bad for men and women.
