I've only ever had plain grits - so just butter and salt (?) I think. They're good, once I get past the mental block I get from the way they look and the way I assumed the texture will be.
I've almost ordered them a few times when having breakfast out but I never took the plunge. I guess I will one of these days! Is it like cream of wheat? I used to loooove cream of wheat as a kid, I put honey in it. A friend liked hers with salt, I tried it but did not like it.
IIN that I put cream cheese in my grits?

I've never had grits...sounds like you have to put a lot of shit in grits to make just it edible so I don't see the point.

They're a similar kind of product, but grits and cream of wheat taste significantly different.
Grits are a porridge made from dried, coarsely ground hominy, btw.
Never had cream of wheat, so I'm not sure.
Edit: from what I can gather from google, it's similar, but grits have a coarser texture.
