Is it normal that i play with my hair all the time?

My worst habit was splitting my own hairs...all the way back to the roots when I was younger. It's taking years to repair the damage.

It's comforting, but highly visible to those around you.

You don't normally see adult women playing with their own hair unless they are flirting in a casual atmosphere.

Outside of a mating situation, fidgeting of any kind conveys anxiety and weakness. It will undermine any profession trust people have in you.

Sometimes I twirl my hair too. I think it's just something you do when you're bored. Actually, I think I do it more when I'm feeling awkward. I just touch my hair to try and take away that strange feeling of embarrassment, or that "out of place" feeling.
