Is it normal that i pick at my head all the time?

Okay, so reading the title you might be a little confused. Here’s some backstory. About a year ago, I got super lice.(a harder to kill version of lice) It was a horrible situation and scared me with the thought of bugs being in my hair. Once we finally got it cleaned and taken care of, i started to realize that i would constantly itch my head. So, i had my mom and dad check my hair again to see if i got lice again and, surprise surprise, i did. It’s been more than a year since i’ve had lice and to this day, i constantly itch and pick at my head because i’m scared to get lice again. I pick so much that sometimes i end up with scabs that will bleed, underneath my hair. I’ve tried to research about it but everything just makes me feel like i’m insane to be doing this. I think i’m just parinoid, but i really want to know if this is normal, and if there’s a way to stop it.

you actually know why you are nuts. thats so cool. you need to heal your scalp because those scars will cause baldness 100 percent of the time. triple antibiotic ointment or a oral prescription from a Doctor. will speed it up. when healed completely , use a scrub brush with soap as a lubricant to wash your scalp . this will fix everything up , no more itching , no more scabs, no more lice. its a plastic bathroom scrubbing brush that shaped like an clothes iorn sold at wal-mart.

cut your nails really short so you can’t pick! or if your a girl get some acrylic nails. they’re a lot more dull than real nails so that you can’t really pick. any bad habits i’ve had i’ve just made it so i literally don’t have the option to do it anymore and it always works.

I do this too not because of itching or anything, but just because of the compulsive urge to pick. I know it's not normal but can't stop doing it.

You are clearly paranoid, and have trouble stopping. I think shaving is the best option.

It is very understandable, after the knowledge of knowing that insects were living on your scalp, to be paranoid and always be picking at and obsessively scratching and checking your scalp. If I ever got lice, I could just see myself picking up a small mirror in the bathroom and obsessively and frantically looking over every inch of my scalp like ten times a day. I'd also obsessively get in the shower, or even tip my head under a sink and shampoo my scalp like 3 times a day. I like the shave your head idea if you're a guy, but you didn't state whether you're a guy or girl. If you're a girl, it'd be better to be a shorter haired girl for a while, the less hair, the easier to thoroughly check your head. Anyway, after having lice in your hair, no, I do not think there is anything abnormal about how you're feeling now. I'd totally feel the same.
