Is it normal that i only see my dad about once a year?

When I was younger my mum and dad split up, at first I saw my dad all the time, like once or twice a week. Then he got a new girlfriend and she hated me. She ruined the relationship between me and my dad and changed him. My dad started to get more aggresive and angry and started to hit me. On Christmas day once he told me he didn't consider me his daughter anymore and that he didn't love me.

He has a new girlfriend now and has moved away, he lives about 1 hours drive from me, but my grandparents and my uncle live close by me, my dad visits them like once or twice a month, but never comes to see me.

I know I'm not perfect, but I never thought I was bad enough for my own dad not to love me.

Is It Normal?

    That's normal, unfortunately. I am sorry that your dad is mean to you. My father passed away and I haven't seen him in 14 years. At first when I read the subject I was jealous, but he was a wonderful father to me. Try to stay close to your other relative you get along with. Don't blame yourself for anything out of your control.

    Omg - he said he didnt love you? For no reason?
    It's normal, unfortunately, for another woman to shape a mans feelings (manipulate if you will) - My step mom pretty much focuses on her family, though over the years she has gotten better.
    I dont know how difficult you are as a daughter so its a bit hard to say if you have perhaps ignited some anger there - however, overall, there is no excuse for a father to say that he does not love his biological daughter - thats just crazy.
