The problem is... just because music isn't screaming doesn't mean it's not real. Not everyone feels the same way... why should one musician's feelings be categorized as "unreal" just because they don't feel the same way about music that someone else feels.
What the OP is doing I suspect is... mistaking "corporate-driven music" with music he or she dislikes.
I mean by the same measuring stick one could say "brutal music is stupid. It's just a bunch of guys screaming out dumb lyrics". Not that I specifically think that but... it goes both ways.
Just because you don't enjoy a style doesn't mean it's stupid or for losers or whatever you feel...
putting other people and their music choices down doesn't make your own suddenly better.
Is it normal that I only like brutal music I hate everything else!!!
