Is it normal that i no longer like halloween?

As I'm already an older man, I have noticed that I have started to grow out of Halloween, it isn't the same way that I experienced it 10 years ago ( I was 8 and now I'm 18 now and back then I used to dress up as a ghost while my brother would be dressed up as a werewolf and my 17 year old cousin would be dressed up as a princess as she was into princesses back then not that any of that matters. ). I plan to sell my old Halloween costumes and give it someone who loves collecting costumes. It was similar how I've talked about how I grew out from certain video games. Sorry if that was off topic but more onto what is actually on topic, the other reason why I feel that I'm no longer interested in celebrating it because it feels childish to me and the more I'm older the more I lose interest in celebrating things.

All we're doing is just knocking on doors and collecting sweets it feels boring to do. At that point I found something better to do than Halloween and that is to plan away what I want to do in life. Whether what I'm telling you is normal or not normal is what my belief says overall about the whole topic that I am talking about.

For me to say the very least Halloween feels really empty and it feels like as empty as an abandoned building that had been abandoned for a year. ( Apology if I've made a weird comparison but I've said it anyways. )

Now that I'm rambling more about Halloween it just seems to me that it also feels pointless to be going at night knocking at doors where kids harass you by knocking on your door it feels daft for anyone to do it and it feels weirder if an older person was to do it.

Since I've now given you most of my points onto why I would say I'm no longer interested in doing Halloween.

Do you think my points sound normal?

And if so to what extent does it sound normal?

I would comment but I can’t get past the fact that you’re an older man of 18

It's normal for you to have less interest in Halloween, but it's also normal for other people to continue to enjoy Halloween for rest of their lives! It's normal for people to have preferences with regard to holidays.

Weird part is that I kinda like it a bit for some weird odd reason even though I'm older. As always I respect and I always let people celebrate what they want to celebrate.

The same way I respect people for their song preferences.

Don't get the wrong idea, even though I don't celebrate it much as I used to, I like making people happy during the holiday and their preferences. I know many other people have different ones to me and I'm really OK with that even if it is for the rest of their lives. Secondly I do know where you are coming from RoseIsabella where its normal for others to enjoy it and become a holiday fanatic.

      :)

dude if your 18 now just go out and party, like a halloween party or something (not necessarily the ones where you have to dress up, just a chill get together with alcohol) ever since highschool halloween has been an excuse to go to some sick parties for me.

You aren't an older man. You're young, wild and free. Get out there and enjoy it. Halloween is just an excuse to party at your age.

I still like Halloween. Every year my boyfriend and I dress in costume and go shopping. He's dressing up as a Gen 3 Pokemon Breeder and I'm dressing as Marie from Persona 4. I find it fun.

By you dressing up as a gen 3 breeder I take it in your favorite region is Hoenn.

I did three runs that game when I was a teen. I know it's probably too soon to remake it since Gamefreak made Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire in like, 2014, but if they did a modern remake for the Switch, I'd definitely play it. XD

I miss the old days where you were able to take Gen 3 mons to the Gen 4 games.

              I especially miss playing Colosseum/XD.

My house never got trick or treaters. Yet we gave out reese's and kit kats. We were at the corner of a gated community so maybe people just b lined it for the gated community.

When me and my brothers trick or treated we had it down to a system. Our mom or dad would have the minivan open, all the seats removed and have a storage bin in it. The three of us would dump candy into the bin each time we did a row of houses since we would just go door to door and then take the van when we got to the end of the street.
By the end we would have the storage bin filled up 1/3rd than we would eat the candy over the course of a six months since it was stored in my parents closet. The last to go were the sugar free candies and smarties.

Yes, it's very normal for your interests of all kinds to change as you get older. There are many things I got very excited about as a child that are just "meh" to me now, and vice versa.

Of course it is. I don't 'do' Halloween anyway and never have done. It's pointless and not the big deal here that it seems to be in America. It is also too close to the date of my mother's death.

nah i get you, i think its normal that kids grow out of the excitement over halloween. also 18 is not being an "older man" lol, youre just no longer a kid. i will say i still like halloween vibes but im not as invested in them as i was when i was young.
