Is it normal that i never talk to my family?

I use to be so close to all of my family. I don't know what happened but things changed. I can't even remember the last conversation I had with my sister. I rarely ever even talk to my mom or dad. If I do its not a conversation. I saw my grandparents for the first time in years today. Its like I want to develop that relationship again but I don't know how. I just feel really weird and odd now.

  • Growing up I hated my family. I joined the army, and suddenly they were so proud of me. 23 years and a move to a different state later, we go back and forth from physical altercations to a loving family. If you feel that suddenly things have changed without a change in circumstances, you may have inadvertently done something offensive. The only way to know one way or the other is to ask. Or, you are all drifting apart. It happens when the kids grow up and start their own lives.

  • I agree. Family will always be there for you. You'll probably be close to them off and on in your life. Just be sure to visit them on holidays no matter how close you are :)
