Is it normal that i must say 'yes' to every request?

Every time a friend ask to do something (party, walk, etc.) I must answer 'yes, ok, I'll go', even if I don't feel like going. It is the same with my gf. It is like I don't want to disappoint people I care for. Sometime I have 2 activities at the same time because I said yes to both! It is a problem for me because I have no time for myself (allway out). IIN?

There's a little word called NO. Be selfish and do what you want, its more fun

You need to watch the second half of "the yes man"

it's one thing to say "yes" to open yourself up to new ideas and experiences
but it's another thing to let others take advantage of you for it, or to say yes when you really don't want to.

actually, it's not normal. just because it's very common doesn't mean it's normal behavior. you need to deal with fear of disappointing people or of not "doing enough". you need to be needed too much and it's unhealthy

I'm the same only I don't come from a background of alcoholics. My husband does and the only person he tries to please is himself. I've learnt their very selfish people.

It's normal, but unhealthy. Just explain that you have to do other things, or if worst comes to worst, make something up :)
