Is it normal that i'm very polite unless someone's being an asshole?

I'll be a nice guy but if Anyone is clearly being rude I will go out of my way to make that persons life more difficult.
A part of me feels evil for it but honestly if someone is going to be an asshole I shouldn't feel bad about making them feel like crap.
Is this normal?

    Don't fight fire with fire.
    Just put it out.
    Walk away or just say something witty to shut them up. A little trolling doesn't hurt either haha. Better than cussing them out or being rude back, it just keep escalating the situation.

    Eh, i can be like that too, but lemme tell you right meow, its a bad personality trait to have.

    It's much better to rise above other people's bad behavior & be a good person regardless of the situation. It's easier said than done tho, oops.
