Is it normal that i'm uncomfortable with people looking up to me?

I don't like when people look up to me, especially my friends. It makes me so anxious and uncomfortable. I wish people didn't look up to me, and I feel like that's weird because it seems like everyone loves when people look up to and admire them.

When I'm not on the road I work on a pallet dock and we have like 6 workers up there including me. I'm like doctor Phil up there I hate it. I'm good at de-escalating situations and they arent. I'm always the cool headed one. Oddly enough a coworker (whos like 20 years older than me) came up to me today to explain an issue hes having with Shontae. Now I guess I'm supposed to work my magic. I had to sit everyone down 2 weeks ago... Its fucking weird. I'm not even the type of take charge person either. Also the managers will come to me to tell me what issues we need to fix. Im not a supervisor or anything its weird.

So Idk I dont have anyone that looks up to me but I do have dr phil skills and get along with everyone and thats annoying yes.

      Dr Phil skills? Magic?

With all your life experience, it is good that you are willing to share your wisdom.

Look, it is like this - it is typical for 20 something year olds to think they are so worldly wise. Now you all are not dumb but just wait. I thought I knew it all when I was younger. We all did at that age, thinking we were wise beyond our years.
THEN. THEN the real world spoke up and we found out we didn't know jack shit.

You think im being a know it all?
Maybe I am but not in this particular situation.

Theyre getting upset because 2 out of the 6 workers get there late and sometimes sit in the truck instead of getting out to clean every trailer that pulls up. But none of us get out to do every trailer and the 90% of the time we are sitting in our trucks on our phones waiting for a trailer to pull up. Now the two angry employees are threatening to get managers involved and I tell them that will screw up the easy job for all of us. They dont know how to talk to eachother and instead of being reasonable they tell the 2 guys to meet them outside of work to fight. When you ask them "what do you want them to do differently so we can get along" they will say something like "I DONT LIKE THEM!".

This is what we are dealing with

They should pay you more, or make you a supervisor and again pay you more. I wouldn't resolve people's problems at work if I don't get anything out of it.

I dont notice it until they start coming to me with problems. I think my coworkers are a bit emotional. Im more laid back. It is odd though.

  • I don’t like either because I feel like people see me as a hero and I’m not. That makes me uncomfortable.

I also have issues were I don’t like to be liked. I think it’s self-hatred.
