It's funny because it reminds the poster of himself.
It is normal, and refreshing to hear a girl talk about it. Usually it is guys who are the ones scared s******* of talking to a girl.
In fact, if he hasn't talked to you yet he might be feeling the same thing. Test that. Be honest. Next time you buy soething say, OMG I get so nervous when I talk to you. Open door. You just flattered him, and by being REAL endeared yourself. Unless he is either super shy or super stuck up he is going to talk to you.
It is normal to feel fear when attracted, because you become attached to the outcome, and what if he rejects me?
So, while he MIGHT be THE ONE. Most likely, he is one of many. In fact you should decide to get to know many different men (100 is the rule of tumb) before deciding who, or what kind of man you want. Although after 35 guys or so you are pretty much there.
With that firmly in mind, his importance just dropped 100 times.
The benefit of being a girl is there are 100 guys right behind this one dying for you to say hi to them, and who would be trembling talking to you.
As an exercise, go in and talk to as many people as you can before and while you are at the book store. This warms you up, makes him less scary and since he has watched you talking to everyone else it is normal and expected you would talk to him.
The practice makes you more confident as well. Confidence is attractive.
