I know what you mean. I do the same thing.
I tend to rush papers the day of or before it's due all the time. I'm just glad I type fast enough and know a few big words to make my statements seem important.
The internet is on the computer and after a while you'd find yourself on facebook or somewhere else slacking off because you can do something better than to sit down and write a paper.
I think spending a day of research then writing it out manually the day after or when you have enough to work with helps finishing it faster.
Then you can start editing it and slacking off whenever you want.
If that doesn't help, try blocking sites you tend to go for for a little while or shut yourself away from outside distractions. If you don't really need internet, disconnect for a little while so it'd just be you and word.
Is it normal that I'm so easily distracted when writing a paper?
