First off why are you selling to filthy room mates? If you say "I dont want your animal since you cant clean up after yourself" is saying you enjoy filthy room mates. So why not find a clean room mater that will clean up after the animal?
Second its peoples right to have a pet so what the fuck makes you think your in charge of that? Are you going to determine what clothes the universe wears top? supreme lord dictator?
Third a lot of times people own pets when they are younger and the animal is a few years old. I doubt a 13 year old is thinking "Oh no I have to send the dog away at 18". Dogs can live a few years you know and so can cats.

I'm forced to settle for somewhere disgusting or dangerous, just so I don't have to relinquish my cats to a shelter. I am more than willing to pay a separate pet damage deposit, yet so many rental companies absolutely refuse. It's not fair.

yes i agree that growing up with pets makes one more likely to really feel a need/want for them
