I'm black and I was born in America but I haven't been there for a while now. Since my mom lives there , she wants me to come live there with her . But I'm scared to go there cause from what I've heard , They're a lot of racists there , I sure have doubts but still not convinced if it's true or not I need to hear it from an American .
if you decide to live there just keep in mind the police can be incredibly brutal (especially to black people)
only advice i can give you when interacting with them to avoid getting hurt is move and talk slowly around them, be calm and never make fast movements or try to take out something from your pocket or bag or whatever.
NEVER run, they'll see that as a threat and will shoot you in the back then claim they "felt threatened"
probably best when going outside is to bring along a token white friend or friends, you'll be less likely to be stopped or looked at suspiciously.
It's normal for people to be scared to move to any country.
Much of the racism that does exist is incited by those that make a lot of money off of it. All depends on where you go...I'm white, if I go into the "hood" in Harlem it's going to be racist. If I go into some parts of LA there will be racism pointed at me. Perspective....
