    Well.. I never really understood the importance of being a virgin other than the fact that sex is new.

      For girls, it is a bigger deal when losing your virginity than with guys.
      Girls tend to get more emotionally attached to the guy she lost her virginity to while guys don't always have that attachment.
      It has to do with hormones released while this happens and they are different for guys and girls.
