It's normal to like the way a certain race looks, but make sure you don't dive into obsession.
Racial preference is normal if it's like, "I typically find ____ attractive, but I'm open to considering everyone as individuals." It gets hella shallow and sort of senseless if it gets to the point where you find yourself saying, "I would never even think of dating anyone if they're not _____."
Race simply dictates physical aspects. Personality has nearly nothing to do with it. Culture? Maybe. But not personality.
As long as you know that people have way more to offer than their race, you'll be fine.
It's easier said than done :( It's not something I have decided, and it's not just a phase. And I just can't find other races attractive, I don't know wny but I can't get a crush on them unless they're Asian... I know it sounds wrong, but I also have no control over this...
Okay. I'm not blaming you for anything. It may be irrational, but if you can't control it then I guess that's the way it has to be. Just be open-minded - let's say a guy who isn't Asian romantically approaches you with simple conversation. Try not to automatically think, "nope, not gonna work". Talk a bit, you never know if this guy could end up being crazy amazing for you even if you can't see it at the time.
Like who you like, but try not to close the rest of the world off. :)
I'll be friends with non-Asian guys, obviously, I have loads of guys who are friends who are non-Asian, but I just couldn't imagine dating any of them... There would always be something missing :/
That is what I'm saying - just because you "couldn't imagine dating any of them" doesn't mean they aren't a good match for you. Don't let your bias's cloud your judment.
You having Asperger's is irrelevant - you're human with or without it. But the sentence that you said that worries me is that you don't see the point. What that tells me is that physical attraction is all that matter to you. Again, you won't be dating that person's race - you'll be dating that person's personality. Realize that - you can have preferances and still give others a chance.
It's not all that matters, no. But physical attraction DOES matter and is important in getting the relationship to work. I wouldn't date a girl, because I'm not attracted to girls, even though their personalities might match mine. Same as I can't date a guy who I don't find attractive. I wouldn't even be comfortable getting close with a guy I didn't like in that way...
IIN that I'm only attracted to Asian guys?
