I always thought I was 5 ft. but I just got myself measured and I'm only 4'9". And according to my BMI I'm almost overweight! How is that possible? The largest pants size I've ever wore is a 5. Is there anyone else here who is as short or shorter?
Measure yourself in the morning. At night and the afternoon, the feet are swollen from walking around all day so if you measure yourself you'll "appear" to be taller. I'm taller than you at 5ft 2 and 1/2 inches. Smallest pant size I ever wore was I think a 3. I could probably wear smaller since most of my pants are loose.
The nurses aren't always accurate with the measurements. Since 7th grade I've been 5'6” (add a centimeter or 2 over the years) last, year when I was 22 the nurse insisted I was only barely 5'4. I kept telling her she was wrong and that I've been the same height for years and it's not possible that everyone else was wrong. She showed me the height chart and it said 5'4. Puzzled after my appointment I went home and measured myself with measuring tape. The results were a bit over 5'6” and future doc appointments were the same results as mine. So, moral of the story is that place purchased some defected equipment and maybe yours had too.
