You're ready when you're ready. There's no right time to be ready to have sex, and nobody has a right to expect you to have sex with them, even if you're in a relationship.

Me either, but don't sweat it. There's no deadline that says when you HAVE to ready for sex. I'm 19 (20 in a month) and am very not ready for sex...and proud of it, too, because I know I don't have to worry about the possible consequences that come with it. And if it ever comes a time that you will be ready, you'll be ready. Don't rush it. And maybe you can find a guy that's willing to wait. Just because you're in a relationship doesn't mean you have to give it up.

There is in relation to social norms. And besides, sex is a big part of the maturing process in the transition of teen to adult. Sexual development plays a part in how you think and behave as an adult. Subconscious sexuality ofcourse being the motivating factor behind all actions and thoughts.

You're not required by any standards to have sex at a certain age. The choice is 100% yours and nobody else's to make for you. If you do get to the point in a relationship where sex is brought up, you can decline it fair and square. If he opposes, stand your ground or dump him if it comes to it. If he is fine with your feelings, he's a keeper.
You should never do something you're not ready for, but maybe you should see if there's any underlying issues as to why you're so afraid of sex.
