You will get called heartless and all sorts of stuff because most people are incapable of digesting a stance that clashes with their own lifestyle. And so belittling you is the only way they know how to handle it. Losing your virginity is overrated anyway. Some people are glad to get it out of the way, others are glad they waited a bit and their first experience was with someone they really connected with. Get back to dating whenever you want to or feel like it, you're not weird at all.
However, MisterPapaya makes a good point, there is a very unique and unparalleled sincerity about having your first experience with someone who's just as inexperienced as you. So know your priority and stick to them, but don't get so extremely invested in them that you miss out
