Actually, I think it's because the anecdote was irrelevant. I mean, you could have just commented by stating your last point and that would have been just fine. I will admit, however, that people seem to be pushing the thumbs down button nowadays like they don't even really care how it affects the commentator. The mentality seems to be "Oh look its you [insert name], I'm going to thumbs your comment down, that ought to show you who's cooler." It's kind of ridiculous.
Very much agree. I'm not sure if it happens to me a lot, but I do know there have been atleast three people that have done that to me. Shame really, they let their emotions overcome their logic.
