Is it normal that i'm interested in gunshot wounds?

As far back as I can remember, I've had what I consider to be an odd fascination with gunshot wounds. I'm mostly interested in the recovery of gunshot wound victims. I'm a published writer -- nonfiction, not fiction -- but I write fiction too, and no matter how I plan otherwise, a character always winds up being shot in one of my stories. I can write very good, graphic descriptions of these scenes. This doesn't consume my life -- I have many, many other interests -- but I always come back to it. Am I insane?

I find that cool shows you that you are caring about the characters in your stories:3

Pain and grief are things that bring your characters closer together. Being fascinated not only with just the wound itself, but with the recovery of it, makes me wonder if you're just a very sympathetic and caring sort of person.
