I wouldn't necessarily say this is a normal way to feel, but I also don't think it's so uncommon to be considered "abnormal".
People with Depression may feel it worse at night, but since you feel fine during the day maybe what you're feeling is more controlled by sunlight and the release of serotonin in your brain.
If you feel your moods fluctuating frequently, that could also be the sign of Bipolar Disorder (manic/depressive episodes).
I know it can be hard to open up to family about things like this. Maybe look for a support group in your area?
