I've been through this with both work and study. At the time I thought every minute was precious and I couldn't waste a single one doing anything other than work or study.
You're more effective when you ease up a bit. One way I sometime work is to accrue a proportion of the time I've worked as free time. If I'm not particularly pushed, I work on a rule of quarters. If I work for an hour, I've accrued 15 minutes off. If I work four hours, I get one hour off. What I then do is only take as much as I need before I feel refreshed again and what remains stays in the bank to be used later in the work/study session. I don't recommend it but I've worked over 48 consecutive hours like this.
Is it normal that I'm behaving like this
