To answer your original question, it isn't very common to still be a virgin at your age, no. But that's not necessarily a bad thing, and it doesn't really reflect upon you at all. This is just my personal opinion, of course, but if you aren't even comfortable enough to just talk about sex with your boyfriend, you definitely aren't comfortable enough to have sex with him.
You should look into professional therapy to talk out some of your issues. It's NOT just for crazy people.
