I doubt you are "ugly". Maybe people are saying this because they are jealous not only of your looks but of your good self esteem. Its not typical but it is great that you feel good about yourself. People who are overly concerned about looks are generally not as happy as people who don't.
Is it normal that I'm a teenager that could care less how I look?
