• Don't know what a "scene" person is but I'm guessing you are saying you are flamboyant and flaming???

If so that's fine, but the marines is no place for you sadly. As a military member I can tell you, your life would be very tough from your colleagues. Beatings would be inevitable and discrimination will be there full bore. It's sad to say but they don't want feminine men. You will be put in positions where you'll see your friend in pieces or worse. By your post and demeanor, you couldn't handle that. You are more concerned with your hair rather than how to survive and keep your friends alive. This isn't a comedy movie your living in. The military is very real. And the marines especially have no tolerance for weakness. Please stay away if you think that being in a combat zone would be easy. Your in way over your head.

• Okay, you're being hypocritical...
Just do it. Be all that you can be.
You sound a little queer like me so hey, might be hot.
Do whatever floats your goat.
Just seriously drop the labels. They don't even apply, bubba. Love yourself.

• Outside of school, cliques don't matter. When you come home after serving and you've earned the respect and thanks of your country, being scene wont matter anymore. If it's something you really want to do, stick to it. If your friends are true, they'll support you no matter what. :D

• I was a "goth" in my generation (I'm old now) and I made the mistake of getting mixed up in the military. It was a short, ugly, messy event that I still regret.

Don't get me wrong; I love the military, I love our freedom, I love the men and women that serve to protect us. But it's no place for scene/metro/goth/emo/geek/mod/whatever... you'll be miserable and hate life, and the Real Men(tm) around you will treat you like shit in every way. Take the advice of the comment above mine, man, and Just Say No: it's not unpatriotic, and you can still kill foreign invaders if they attack on American soil... just without being made fun of mercilessly, beaten up, and given swirlies.

• Normal that all different types of people go into the marines? Yes. But I guarantee, that when you come back to visit your family and friends, you're gonna be totally changed. You'll be more of a man, and honestly, you're not gonna give a shit about what labels people label you or once labeled you.

I'm not trying to sound bitchy or anything, but just the way your post is, "Is It normal that I'm a Scene guy and going into marines?", I mean, come on! You do care about labels. There is no denying it. You sound really young, even though you're probably like the same age as me, haha! Thats why I believe you're gonna come out a changed man. The maturity level is gonnna be completely different.
