For music: You could check out some early rock and blues and metal. Its really got that feel! (I strongly recommend Iron Maiden if you haven't tried yet. Its my all-time favorite band!! :D )
As for History and Politics and other stuff, I can imagine. Its alright. You have enough time to know and grasp stuff and now that you know what you've been missing out on, you can do researches with a little more conviction and dedication.
Oh! Drumming. Check out Neil Peart (from Rush) or Mike Mangini (ex-Dream Theater) or John Bonham ( from Led Zeppelin).
Buddy Rich is like a GOD of drumming. It all depends on what kind of drumming you want to listen.
