Is it normal that i'm a guy and i love my best friend?

So I've known my best friend for around 7 years now, I'm a 20 year old guy, and hes 21. We are both straight and had girlfriends.
For the past 3 years or so we've been inseparable to the point of people speculating that we could be gay. We have openly admitted that we feel closer to each other than we have to any girl.

We know each other inside out, there is absolutely nothing we havn't spoke about with each other or would feel uncomfortable speaking about. Its as if we are in a relationship with each other, but without the sexual side of it. We've spoke about how we 'love' each other in a 'no gay' way before and we feel extremely comfortable expressing our physical emotions with each other, eg. hugging/touching each other.

The problem is we've just come back from a 3 week holiday with each other, and ever since I just can't stand to be apart from him.

When I havn't spoke to him for a day it brings my mood right down, I miss him SO much. We both feel so much love for each other.

I'm intrigued to know if alot of guys have this sort of close relationship with a friend? How can I stop missing him so much, do you think he feels the same? Is this normal?

    I think the world would be a better place if more men had the close relationship that you and your buddy share.

    I think you're normal and lucky to have such a connection. Love is not just restricted to family and lovers.

      u should never do anything romantic with a close friend. because come on.. all highschool/teenage relationships result in a harsh ending. is it worth dating just to kiss and have sex and in the long run losing a good friend. i wouldnt

    yes your so close your love is brotherly even if something develops in the future and you feel attracted to him so? theres lots of bisexual people so rest assured enjoy your friendship

    I think it's normal, I agree you should be lucky to have a friendship that good, and in my opinion there is nothing gay about it, but you should be able to answer this for yourself more then anyone else

    i had this exact same thing.. its odd everything u said was like my situation. we where great friends.. but then his other friends told him i was controlling him and trying to keep him away from everybody i didnt think that was true but he did. so that killed our friendship :/
