Is it normal that i'm a 19 yr old virgin?

Hey so I just turned 19 a couple weeks ago and it just hit me that this is my last year as a teenager. With that being said I really feel the pressure to lose my virginity because I don't want to be an adult virgin (no offense to any one) I know I shouldn't buy into societal standards but I never "saved" my virginity, I just never really put myself out there. Everyone around me has had sex and it makes feel really insecure and unworthy.

It’s not as unusual as many people think to have your first sexual experience in your early 20s, especially amongst more introverted people. Unfortunately people feel they can’t admit this due to the social stigma, leading to many people like you worried that they are outliers when they are far from it.

My advice would be to remember firstly that there is no “correct age” to start having sex. Secondly anyone teasing you or making you feel “unworthy” is not your friend. And finally what you have or haven’t done in the bedroom is nobody’s business but your own. As I say to others on this site feeling insecure about their virginity- no-one has to know.

Its ok that you have not lost your virginity yet. But once you have sex for the first time and its consensual you will be hooked especially if you reach an orgasam a delightful experience.

Fellow 19 year old virgin here. I know exactly how you feel. When I turned 19 (and still now), I kind of underwent this existential crisis, realizing it would be my last year as a teenager. My teenage years, the “best of your life”, are coming to an end, and are were so many things I have yet to experience.

I dropped out of middle school (not my choice, but that’s a long story). I haven’t really ever made any friends. I’ve never been in a relationship. I’ve never been to a party (not that I’m asking for some kind of rager, but hell I’ve never hung out or anything). And, biggest of all, in a few months I’ll be twenty. TWENTY. A really-real adult. I’m not ready for any of it, I feel so I unprepared.

Damnnnnn I really know how you feel. We got this though, we gotta keep telling ourselves that. My father told me for years his 20s were his best years, not his teens. I try to hold on to that when I feel like what we're both feeling. Just know you're not alone alright? I understand and honestly this helped me to know I'm not alone either. Thank you for sharing with me. And hey... Happy (early) 20th birthday!

I lost my virginity at like, 25. People I went out on dates with didn't think anything of it. I didn't think much of it. I'm still with the guy I lost it to. XD

I lost mine at 23 so don't worry about rushing into it you'll find the right one and it will be a blast.

I lost my virginity only when I turned 22 but could have delayed it even further. It's not that much of a big deal as some teenagers make it out as. No-one really cares.

It's honestly fine. When I was 19 I would have thought nothing of a guy telling me he was a virgin. Don't worry about it. It will happen when it happens.

Completely normal. I'm a guy and didn't have my first intimate GF until 26. Just wait for the right one for you. Where you are comfortable and relaxed.

It's kinda the same for me I have sex every once in awhile but it's kinda just something I do if I'm able to get it. At this point in my life being 26 and all I feel that I could go without having sex if possible.

Completely normal. I felt the same insecurity at 19 and it didn't help that my so-called "friends" were really pressuring me to have sex and trying to make me feel bad about it. I'm now 25 and still a virgin by choice (I just never found someone I felt right about having sex with and have since found out that I just don't seem to have a sex drive), and I'm so glad I didn't lose my virginity "just because" (to me, sex is a big deal and I know I would regret having had sex with any of the clowns I was dating and hanging around with at the time).

Virginity is really just a concept, and there's nothing wrong with being a virgin at any age.

Also, there are A LOT more virgins your age than you think. Most either aren't broadcasting it (I always tried to keep it to myself because I felt it was nobody's business, but one friend with similar insecurities who I confided with later spilled the beans to everyone once she lost her virginity and tried to pressure me into it as well) or have lied about it because they feel insecure about it as well.

It really depends on how you view sex, but to me, based off of my peers' experiences, it's best not to rush it and to wait for the right person. Having sex is really not nearly as big of a deal as people make it out to be.

Thank you. This really, really helped calm my insecurities. Can I ask you a personal question? Are you a guy or a girl? I feel like stigma depends on gender too

Heeeeey, take it easy. It's one thing to be a virgin, but being an angry virgin won't get you laid any sooner.

It doesn’t help being a Canadian. You people are so liberal that anything “adult virgin” is bad in your left wing culture. In the U.S., virginity isn’t a big deal. You’re putting pressure on those who never had sex even if they save themselves to marry.

America is better, deal with it. We have the Bible, Donald Trump and God’s protection. You?

You do know that Donald trump is partly to blame for the spread of the virus, right.
I would take Canada over America!

It’s McSorley I was replying to. Whenever people like him talk about how bad virgins are, my thought is he threw out the Bible from a car before making a hard LEFT turn. That’s his country and culture.

Virgin or not doesn't make you a better person !
I was virgin until I was 20 years old (nearly 21).
Before I felt bad about it.
After I realised that was not so important for me !
    I'm a 23 year-old-man and I really don't care about all this !

Why are you desperate to lose your V? Also, girls can smell desperation, and they run a mile when you whiff of it.

You forgot to consider that girls might never say he’s desperate. If he is desperate, the girls who reject him will say so.

It’s not desperation, it’s something else.

You've actually seen it where a girl tells a guys she doesn't want him because he's desperate? It's like telling someone you're not interested in them because they're fat. You'd have to be socially retarded to tell someone that.
