I agree that it's perfectly normal, and that pheromones are physiologically effective. You don't need to have feelings or interest in the individual to love or be attracted to their scent; in fact, it is very possible to be hugely attracted or aroused by someone's scent, and then to lose all arousal when you discover whose it is! In this case, the feelings you have for your friend are, at least, not distaste or disgust, so you remain attracted to his scent. Normal.
