I still love driving as much as I did when I first started. Although I miss my manual gear, hotted up car, its the driving (especially country/beach road driving) that I love.
The only thing that has really changed is I just can't be a passenger any more. I feel like I could always do better than them (the old I'm the best driver on the road arrogance most have)
Since I lost my license 3 times when I was younger for speeding (once dragging off and beating an unmarked cop car!!) I only speed when I know its safe now.
Speed doesn't kill, only careless driving does.
I really feel that very experienced drivers in all conditions should be allowed to go faster when they know its absolutely safe for everyone and not beyond the cars limitations or the driver.
I see young drivers still speeding (as I did once) in situations that are not safe.
As for road rage, I have no time for it. If the person behind me wants to get in front, by all means go past. I drive for enjoyment, knowing I'm the best Lol.
My last accident was about 25years ago. Due to poor tires they locked up and skidded on icy roads into the car in front. I now always have good tread tires on the front (at least) and obviously drive a car with ABS (no locking up of tires) Plus I go over every hypothetical possibility in milliseconds on the road at all times. Always watching out for the 'other' driver, as they are the ones that are careless, not me anymore.
I originally did an advanced driving course on a racing track. How to skid and corner that type of thing. These courses should be mandatory for all new drivers.
By the way, have you seen that tiny car on youtube that's trying to park in a large spot (actually there are a few of them) they shouldn't be allowed to drive on the road if they can't do this basic shit.
I must admit, I drove in Malaysia as well (right around the country, then through the middle) Since buses can overtake me on blind corners, quite obviously Indian bus drivers must know more than me, because to me that's just suicidal.
Is it normal that I love driving?
