Is it normal that i love chewing on white socks?

Not dirty socks but very clean socks that have been ran through the washer and dryer with just the right amount of laundry detergent and bleach but they have to be cut up and wrinkled. Just thinking about it makes my mouth water.

It's strange, but, I used to wait until one of my socks would get even a small hole, then pull and mess around with it until tearing the sock to shreds. Was just a thing, but did it with every pair I had. Or, I'd work on the toe thread until pulling it all apart. Haven't done either in many years.

The desire to eat non-food objects is an disorder called "Pica" it's actually more common than ppl know! I've diagnosed myself after doing research on this. But tbh I always thought I was the only person that does this particular behavior! Except in my case it goes further. It started off with the love of the smell of fresh laundry along with the smell of bleach, gasoline and freshly laid black tar (I know its very strange! I don't need any votes on if this is normal, I already know its not lol). Then one day at about the age of 5-6 yrs old, I decided, after sniffing my fresh laundry my mom had just done, to start chewing on my white cotton socks! My strange addiction to white freshly laundered cotton that smelled like bleach took off from there! I eventually graduated to chewing on white linens (towels, washcloths etc) instead of socks and even some of my shirts. I'm in my mid-twenties now and I still do this every day if/whenever possible. But now instead of just chewing on the towels, I pull the cotton threads/strings out and actually chew & swallow them! Plz excuse my long winded explanation but to finally answer your question, even though this may be considered "normal behavior" for someone with "Pica", I'm gonna say that technically no this is not normal.
