Is it normal that I look down on game addicts

    I think the word addict is being thrown around too much here. I have a brother who literally can't stop playing games. Not only that but he steals so that he can buy new games or go to game tournaments or other stuff like that. I used to share a room with him and things of mine went missing. An old laptop a couple of my hard drives, money.

    He lists it as just a hobby, but it's become more than that, it's his life and everything else comes second.

    I like playing games and actually I program little computer games and 3D demos in my spare time.
    I don't blame the computer games, it could have been anything that he became addicted to. I do hate his stealing and his addictive personality.

    Just wanted to to give another viewpoint.

      I think that's an interesting viewpoint that you have. Do you think maybe your brother's a kleptomaniac?

        I don't think so. He only steals to get funding for his lifestyle, not as a compulsion. He only stole my 2.5" hard drives as he could sell them as playstation drives (he fixes playstations), and of course the money.

        The one thing he does do compulsively is lie.
