Is it normal that I like to pretend to be a cucumber?

  • Okay, you need to be careful what you post online or people will judge you. I think you know you are NOT a cucumber, you were just wondering what it would FEEL LIKE to be one for a LIMITED about of time.

Have you heard of heart based living? I have been reading up on Zen and Tibetan Buddhism and man, I love it. But going a step further than that I like to ask "Who am I?" And the "I" seems to just become awareness. I just sit in a quiet place and close my eyes and go into myself. So, I just start to peel away who I am not.

Am I ONLY a girl? Am I ONLY an American? Am I ONLY a human being? I am only gay? Do I only like girls? Am I only a bag of bones? What happens when I die? What is true for me? What is that inside of me making me live? What is that heart inside of me that is beating away? And what happens to "me" when this heart stops? Where does the "I" go? Asking these questions is like taking a deep look into myself. And it is wonderful. It is called meditation. And you don't have to do anything. You don't have to sit in a quite room. You can do it waiting for your doctors appt.

about 2 weeks ago when I was meditating I went so far deep within myself that I asked myself "hey, way not see what it would be like if I was a beautiful tree?"

Now I KNOW that I am NOT a tree, but what would it FEEL like for me if I was a tree? Would that flowing feeling in my heart be more at ease? What would my legs feel like? Would they start to feel more heavy like tree roots? What about my arms? Would they start to feel more heavy due to tree branches and leaves? What would wind feel like coming through me if I was a tree? Would it feel like when I wear a dress and a wind comes through? What about my skin? Would it feel hard like bark? But I know that I'm NOT a tree. I am a human.

I could ask the same thing about other objects "What would it feel like if I was the sun and I made the earth warm?" Doing this may help you. Do you like attention? Do you feel you need to be loved a LOT by others? How do you feel when you are alone? Do you feel safe? Think if you were a book. You wanted people to read you. You may say "Don't put me down, you got to read me, I need to be read daily. I want you to mark my pages up with ink and highlighter. Please read all of my pages If you don't read me, if you drop me under your bed, I will be lost forever. Oh no, now I have dust on my cover, I feel horrible". Then you can come back to reality and see how that experience is with your present reality. Do you need to be around people? Do you feel lonely when alone? Do you need to be the life of the party? Western psychology does not go this route. This is why I LOVE eastern psychology. It is so much more board and open. we are all connected to everything. The trees, the sun, animals, everything. We are not separate.

I don't know what will happen when I die. I don't know if there is a heaven or hell or anything. And that will be revealed to ME when I die. And that will be revealed to all when all others die. Be free. Meditate. Just DO NOT go around to your friends, family and strangers saying "I'm a cucumber did you know that?" They may not want to be around you much. But you can go and meditate any time you want for 20 minutes a day 2x a day. I believe it cleanses the soul. Take care.
