I don't understand....you have never met this guy in person? How can you have a "relationship" if you only text, skype and talk on the phone?
Maybe I am old fashion, but, I wouldn't call this a "relationship"...it is an acquaintance.
You need to spend TIME together, get to know each other before you decide if you like this guy.
FRIENDS are the people you hang out with, have laughs with, go do THINGS with. Not electronically.
The fact he treats you 2 different ways, one when it is just the 2 of you and another when you are with so-called "friends" (again, those aren't friends, they are acquaintances), is troubling. You didn't say in what way it is "different", but, I suspect it isn't good.
Assuming the way he treats you in front of others is not as nice as when it is just the 2 of you tells me he is hiding something from you, like, that he is in another relationship and you are just some "cyber-buddy" that he has waiting in the wings for when the time is right.
That is OK if your OK with it, but, douches like that will ALWAYS have one or two (or dozens) on the "side" JUST IN CASE. Or, for when they just need to "tap" something new.
Is that the kind of relationship you are looking for? Think more of yourself. Find a real friend.
