Computer Scientist here. I spend all day in my cube writing code and surfing the net. I spend about 1-2 hours per day talking with people face to face and the rest is email. It can get lonely, but I chose this profession for a reason, and that reason is exactly what you described.
PS. Relationships will be hell. Your 23 so you may not have gotten to that point yet, but trust me, it's rough.
