Don't let age ever be a barrier. Besides, 30 and 18 is not such a bad pairing. At work I worked with a 50 year-old secretary (I'm 30) and one day after talking to her I found myself thinking "you know, if she weren't married, I might have asked her out on a date". It didn't happen of course, but you know what I mean. Life is too short to impose boundaries on yourself. Just go for it.
