I've done the same before, yeah there is guilt associated with it. But in my opinion, at least you can pretend that the burden has been lifted. How good of friends are you with these people anyways? Cause the people I lied to weren't my best friends, just regular friends, one of whom I don't like too much.
Personally though I don't think what you did was wrong, it was just a reaction as a result of societal pressure. You didn't hurt anybody, give it a few days and the guilt will pass.
Yeah that's pretty much how I saw/see the people I lied to, not my best, but still friends. I'm glad I could help. Like I said the guilt will go away soon, it's not even that big a deal to lie about something like that anyways.
