No, that's not normal. Most people have developed better friendship skills than that. I might be normal for young kids to do stuff like that, but not anyone older. Being social is not always a natural thing for everybody, it has to be learned. It sounds like you've got a lot of learning to do. :)
Yeah :/ I'm so fucked. I can't even socialize with my parents cause I forgot how to even talk to people. Someone says hi I run away and cry in the bathroom. Even a professional help couldn't help me :(
There's a really helpful book out there: How To Talk To Anyone (Leil Lowndes). I read it a long time ago, but I found it helpful. You should check it out. :)
It takes time and practice. You should also educate yourself more on human behavior and what motivates people to behave the way they do. Take some sociology and psychology classes; they'll demystify a lot of what seems impossible to understand about human interaction.
