Is it normal that i lay awake at night because im to afriad to sleep

Every night I lay in my bed not moving a muscle or making a sound , just so i can listen to see if there is a burgular down stairs in house , incase he/she comes up stairs to kill me. When i hear a natural sound my body freezes uncontrolably and i sweat like crazy. What should i do ?

Is It Normal?

  • OMG, I'm always terrified at night also. And I have multiple family members AND a dog living with me.

    *sigh*

  • Don't watch scary movies or play scary video games for a while before you go to bed.

  • Thats exactly my situation ! i guess a part of it may be caused by my love of Csi and Crimnal Minds but i love them too much that i cant stop watching them :(

  • Lock your doors at night? That's the only solution I can think of. And I can honestly say I've never been "afriad" to sleep.

  • I sleep with a fan on and music playing all night so I can't hear stuff like that. and I love my dog, but she'd probably hide if someone broke in.

  • Get a dog. Doesn't matter if it's small, you'll definitely feel safer.
