  • Nowadays they're known as sociopaths, only small minority are actually dangerous but the rest can be destructive to themselves and others.

I believe a close relative of mine is a sociopath. She's very smart (usually, not always), extremely good at manipulating others and basically has most of the hallmark traits of a sociopath.

I can tell you that if her family (including myself) was not there in her life, chances are she'd end up killing herself and her kids because she makes horrendous life decisions with very serious consequences and doesn't see it till it's too late.

You might get the wrong idea and think a sociopath is in control of their condition. It's the exact opposite, they're almost like automatons, being controlled by their maladaptive disposition.

People who are 'normal' can act like psycho/sociopaths, but we don't because we have other faculties such as the sense of remorse, foresight, volition and so forth which allows us to make wiser decisions.

I'm sure I've made my point by now, a sociopath is nothing to envy and they ultimately leave a path of destruction, including their own if they aren't helped by their betters.
