  • I check nearly all the boxes which are required to be considered a psychopath however I'm sure my lack of empathy stems from my scientific belief that nobody on this planet matters. If half the planet were to die while I sleep tonight I would happily get up tomorrow morning and go to work without giving it a second thought.

    • Well there's no 'belief' in science that says nobody matters, however I think it's just our own egocentric perspective-we think others' lives don't matter since we don't interact with them in any meaningful way.

Though I do share in your view that there are billions of people who are completely useless and if they disappeared, human civilization might even be the better for it.

To an extent I'm a eugenicists, but not in the Nazi sense, more in terms of refining the gene pool by preventing losers from breeding. Though I'm sure it'd open a can of worms.

      • Don't try and tell me what I do and don't believe in and don't say we because we are nothing alike.

        • That's right, we're nothing alike, you're a self-proclaimed psychopath, I'm not.

Secondly 'scientific belief' is an oxymoron, there is no scientific basis for your subjective opinion that 'nobody on this planet matters.' So don't use the word 'science' in a sense when you have no idea what you're talking about.

I'm not telling you what you believe, you said it yourself and I said I agreed to an extent, dumbass.

But there is one thing we are alike, that we wouldn't care if a large fraction of the human population disappeared. So why are you contradicting yourself?

          • Ok Mr Know-it-all.
Firstly I didn't proclaim to be a psychopath, if you read my first statement correctly you will see I was actually saying I don't think I am.

Secondly you are still trying to tell me what I do or don't believe in because your saying what I believe in is not scientific. My opinion may be just an opinion but I have come to my own conclusions due to studying different areas of science, mainly astrophysics, evolution and neurology. Due to the complex nature of what I actually believe in, it could never be proven but it is still a scientific belief. The big bang theory can never be proven but that also is still a scientific belief.

And in regards to me not knowing what I'm talking about, well I have multiple degrees in various areas of science including a postgraduate so I like to think I know a little bit about what I'm talking about.

              Oh you mean this statement:

"I check nearly all the boxes which are required to be considered a psychopath"

Where you declare that you check all the boxes to be considered a psychopath, read "correctly" would mean the exact opposite of that? Talk about contradicting yourself.

Ya I'm in agreement with you, you definitely are a psychopath and given your self-contradicting nature, a schizophrenic.

If your 'belief' cannot be 'proven' then it is the opposite of science. You seem to have no clue what science involves. Both my undergrad and graduate degrees are in science and I can easily see through your bullshit.

The Big Bang theory is not a 'belief', which is the acceptance of a claim as fact without evidence. Rather it is a scientific hypothesis, which based on the evidence leads to the conclusion that our universe originated from the big bang.

You sound like too much of a dumbass to have even entered first year undergrad, let alone complete multiple degrees. So you're probably just lying or you got your degree by mail order.

              • I don't know whether you are intentionally misreading my first sentence or you simply do not understand simple English, either way if you were to read it in its entirety you would see I am proclaiming the exact opposite.
I fucking hate it when people try and argue semantics to make their point. If the word belief goes directly against the grain of science then why in most scientific conclusions do the authors write 'we believe' even if their results are conclusive?
Just to clarify the big bang is a theory, not a hypothesis, for someone so into science I figured you would know the difference.

    • pretty normal really, after all that's humanities biggest strength and biggest weakness, our ability to switch ourselves off if we so choose

Cuz hey, you could hear tomorrow about some war that's killed 900 000 people in the last five years- Would it really matter? Unless your life was affected by it in some way, I.E relative is a victim , no you probably wouldn't, because life goes on, i'm sure in Bosnia, Rwanda, Nazi Germany and everywhere something horrible has occurred, is occurring, or will occur, the sun rises each morning, the birds sing and the wind blows, and nothing really changes

      - because as you said, if half the worlds population died but your country was unnafected, nothing would come to a standstill people would shake their heads, sigh, and maybe pray for the souls the lost in religious in churches, temples, synogouges and mosques but, people would shrug after a while and carry on , because loes on
