It's not really any of your business if this guy is gay or staight, besides he could be queer as a three dollar bill and still have no interest in you. I don't care if you male or female, gay or straight or trans or whatever, because it's unhealthy for you to stalk another person, and nobody's obligated to return your interest. Honestly, I don't think she is to the stalker point yet. She is respecting his privacy, and not really obsessing about him. If his left ear is unpierced, she is going to leave him alone.
If she starts a conversation and he brushes her off, then anything after that point is stalking.
