  • I'll be blunt: That's a great way to get fat.

    If you eat food your body doesn't need, it's already "wasted" in a sense; your body isn't putting it to good use as energy, and it isn't contributing to your health. Are you caring for your health if you fill the same role as a garbage can or compost heap?

    Instead of worrying about wasting food, find other ways to conserve it than eating it when you aren't hungry. Wrap it up and eat it later. Order an appetizer instead of an entree. Take a taste of something you're offered instead of a whole serving.
