People would jump on to defend the parents because sometimes teenagers see basic parenting as cruelty. Your parents demanding for you to take out the trash, clean the house, help them out somehow etc... isn't child abuse, but you're very vague about the bad things they supposedly do to you so i can't judge. But you gotta keep in mind where these people that are defending your parents on first impression coming from, especially before you get to explain.
