Yes its what I was privy to growing up, so why should it be any different now? He is more then capable of supporting and providing for the household. He just needs to get off his lazy ass and do it.

And frankly if you're telling him "get off his lazy ass" to go provide you a life... I say you might find that's not the best way to motivate him to want to work for you.
I know plenty of men who would look at a statement like that and say "time to eject from this relationship"
