Is it normal that I judge people by what kind of car they drive?

  • I've never had any interest at all in meeting girls who were impressed by what I drove or wore. Those sorts of girls aren't anyone I want to be with.
As to the "feel" of a vehicle, reliability is much more important to me and I'm pretty sure a 100k+ vehicle isn't going to make 375,000 miles without costing an arm and a leg.
But to each his/her own; that's why the gold diggers have boyfriends and the luxury car market exists.

    • I guess you're not aware that there are high quality cars which are also very reliable.

Some people appreciate quality others don't.

      To each their own.

      • I guess you think I'm really stupid; "I guess you're not aware that there are high quality cars which are also very reliable." I have owned and driven cars of all sorts, including one vehicle that cost over 550k, but none more reliable than the Toyota mentioned above.
All high end cars require expensive maintenance; I doubt even you would dispute that fact, which is what I was alluding to. Cost does not necessarily mean quality these days.
I've not owned a vehicle since we left for the Caribbean 26 months ago (our Zodiac is our Ferrari), so it's all a moot point to me, and I may never own one again; no big loss in my mind.
