Since animals can't protect themselves it sounds like you prefer to give their tormentor the revenge you feel they would want. I think it's normal, animals don't judge, they will love you unconditionally (as long as you have food for them ha). Anybody who would seek to hurt that sort of innocence is someone who in your mind deserves to get some payback.
